I bought my first Saab from my best friend for $300 bucks. The driver’s side floor pan was rusted out nothing a painted piece of plywood couldn’t fix. The engine ran beautifully and it had the one part that all young men with cheap and fast on their mind “a turbo charger”. When I learned that GM had purchased Saab I was devastated because the last thing I wanted for a car brand with such a distinct personality was to become a rebadged Buick. And that is what killed the Swedish Saab.

Love it or hate it, this is really it, the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata. We have witnessed several renditions of what the new Hyundai Sonata would look like and some of them were not off by far. The new stylish design resembles that of a VW Passat CC or even the Benz CLS with roof lines that mimic a coupe. Visually the car looks totally different from one end to the other. Hyundai is no longer the “el-cheapo” car from Korea (same goes for the sister nameplate Kia), it is the one that gives Toyota’s Camry and Honda’s Accord a run for their money in more ways than just the 10-year powertrain warranty. The 2011 Hyundai Sonata does not just go up against the normal run-of-the-mill Camry or Accord

Up until today, you could not convince me that wagons, or what some of you call ‘station wagons’, are cool. I think they are hideous and plain butt ugly but lately my old-school perception has changes with the introduction and conformation of the new Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon coming out. The new Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon is pretty bad-assed if you ask me. It has a rear-end that I would want to ahh-cough-cough, open and CLOSE. Not only does the CTS-V Sport Wagon look pleasing to the eye, it should do a number to your back when you press the gas pedal laying down 556 horsepower and 551 ft-lbs of torque. The big 6.2-liter V8 crammed into the CTS-V Sport Wagon is good for a run from 0 to 60mph in 4.1 seconds.

In a way they seem like street legal racing carts but I would not want to diminish the true value of a Lotus by calling them go-carts.
Filed under: Hybrid , Crossover , Buick , GM , Alternative Fuel Surprising news comes by way of General Motors today as the automaker has already canceled its recently announced Buick crossover , which in reality was little more than an ex-Saturn Vue emblazoned with Buick's trademark chrome waterfall grille. And therein lies the rub. As confirmed to Autoblog by Michelle Bunker, Manager of Buick Communications, initial feedback from the media, employees and dealerships regarding the upcoming vehicle was almost universally negative, as the product just didn't seem to fit with the direction the automaker said it was taking the Buick brand. As a result, GM has apparently canceled the program. Thankfully, though, the Vue's plug-in hybrid powertrain, which we sampled in 2-mode hybrid prototype , will reportedly be transferred to another vehicle and will hit the market with no delay from the previously announced 2011 sale date. While some might say (and with good reason) that GM should have known the Vue didn't belong in Buick showrooms in the first place, the automaker cites this quick action as evidence that things really are changing at New GM, and it's hard to argue with that assessment - there's little doubt it would have taken countless meetings leading to numerous delays to make such a decision just a few months back

Yesterday, Lexus announced the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for the new HS 250h hybrid, which will arrive at dealerships in late August. The new model has the best combined EPA mpg rating of any luxury vehicle in the United States, emitting 70% fewer smog-forming emissions than an average new car. It received EPA-estimated ratings of 35 mpg when utilizing regular 87-octane gasoline. The HS 250h is offered in standard and premium models. The standard version will have a MSRP of $34,200 and the premium model will carry an MSRP of $36,970. The MSRP does not include a delivery, processing and handling fee of $875, but it still comes in about $10,000 less than one of its entry luxury sedan segments competitors.
