You may not care very much when U.S. News ranks the $84,060 Nissan GT-R “2 out of 8 Super Luxury Sports Cars.” The thought might cross your mind that with a paltry $84K price, it can hardly qualify as a Super Luxury Sports Car.
The 2010 Nissan Maxima still stands tall as Nissan’s flagship sedan entering into the performance and luxury segment as the infamous 4-door sports car. A 290hp 3.5-liter VQ series V6 engine delivering power to the front wheels through a CVT transmission does not make the new Maxima “soft” by any means. It is firmly planted and means business. The new styling of the Maxima introduced in 2009 adds a boldness appeal that gets some design cues from its beastly brother, the Nissan GT-R. Nissan is known for solid drivetrains and the new Maxima does not sway from that tradition.

Could you only imagine having a job driving a new Nissan GT-R as fast as you want on public streets? Not to mention with this job you can pull over whoever you want and chase down whomever. This is what the Abu Dhabi Police force has to offer for some very lucky officer, a new Nissan GT-R to drive around in and fight crime. Its no doubt that you will find some of the most amazing AND bizzar looking vehicles in Abu Dhani and the new Nissan GT-R Police car did not fall far from that very tree. The paint scheme is very nicely done with a set of bright LED police lights mounted on the roof. Sure the statement “you can’t outrun the radio” holds true but you would be hard pressed to find something that can outrun this Police car.

With an expected release date in early 2011 for customers, the new Lexus LF-A has been a creation-in-progress for almost 9 years now. The confirmed specs of the rear-wheel-drive Lexus LF-A supercar are highlighted with a 4.8-liter V10 that makes 552hp and 354 lb-ft of torque that can rev to a lofty 9000 rpm redline.
Illtech Tuning Auto Salon’s Cody Johnson sits down for an exclusive interview by Driving Sports TV for a look at the Illtech R35 Nissan GT-R. As Cody explains in the video, their GT-R project car has many tuning modifications in the works. The initial tuning allows the GT-R to put down just over 600hp and 600 ft-lbs of torque to the wheels all on 92 octane gas. Future plans include the adaptation of methanol or race fuel and a rebuild of the transmission or switch to a 6-speed manual to handle the added power. Exterior aesthetics are highlight by the iForged 22 inch wheels and an aftermarket exhaust that makes the sweetest sound I have heard from a GT-R so far. Enjoy the exclusive video: Taming the Serpent: Illtech’s R35 GT-R

Last fall, many will remember the unusual rivalry that came about between Porsche and Nissan all of which centered around the famed Nurburgring. Nissan’s then-new GT-R was said to turn a near unheard of lap time in stock trim around the ‘Ring while Porsche rebutted that Nissan’s new super car couldn’t beat their own Turbo or GT2’s lap time. What followed was a series of press releases and on-board timed videos as well as questions to what constituted full lap of the ‘Ring. It all became a bit silly watching two automotive giants duke it out over a strip of German asphalt in the name of improved lap times for marketing and bragging rights. Thankfully, it all quieted down. That is until now

GReddy’s developed a showcase 2.0T Hyundai Genesis Coupe for the upcoming SEMA show chock full of goodies including custom bodywork and paint, suspension bits, but most importantly, a bigger intercooler, cat-back exhaust. It’ll need it to hit its 500HP goal. As the faint report of the SEMA crazy train whistles in the distance, every tuner in the universe is coming out with their version of the next best thing, GReddy seems to be throwing everything at the Genesis Coupe this year, which was something of an unofficial darling of last years show, right up there with Nissan GT-R and Dodge Challenger. This car tarts things up with a de riguer body kit with a new front fascia and splitter, rear spoiler, side skirts, look-at-me paintjob and loud graphics, intercooler, cat-back exhaust, “racing” downpipe, an adjustable coil-over suspension and six-piston front, four-piston rear brakes

AutomotiveAddicts.com was on site at the recent Cars and Café get together celebrating their new location at Route 46 Entertainment District. Early on Saturday September 26 th at 9am the cars started rolling in. Setup similar to an actual car show, the Cars and Café event was a success. Cars and Café is very similar to other car meets held across the United States that was originally something ignited in Europe. It is well known as the unofficial name of “Cars and Coffee” although some areas may have a slightly different name as does Cars and Café in Orlando, FL and the Automotive Addicts Meet (AA MEET) in Jacksonville, FL. Some of the highlighted vehicles that made an appearance was the Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir, Ferrari California, Tesla Roadster, Porsche GT, Lamborghini Gallardo Supperleggera, Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560, Corvette ZR1 and an onslaught of Viper’s, Nissan GT-R’s, S2000’s, various BMW’s and other relatively popular sports cars

The newest 2011 Infiniti QX56 recently made an appearance in the Middle East at an invitation-only event. Someone was able to capture a couple shots of Nissan’s newest mammoth SUV that is a much wanted update to the outgoing Nissan Armada and 2010 Infiniti QX56 . Looking at the grainy spy shots will reveal several Infiniti and Nissan-esq design cues including the strait forward sweeping roof like, reminiscent of the GT-R, Cube and even Kia Soul (really?). The rear tail lamps remind you of the current Infiniti FX crossovers while the front headlights and front grill are pure Infiniti. More details to be announced when they become available.
Someone had to do it, so why not ask a few of my gaming buddies what they think about the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 when put up against Forza Motorsport 3 or vice-versa. Obviously, if you own an Xbox 360 you are partial to Forza Motorsport and then if you own a PS3, then you would naturally take a liking to the Gran Turismo franchise. Considering how tight money is these days, many video gamers and car enthusiasts are going to make a single choice between Gran Turismo 5 and Forza Motorsport 3 instead of buying both of them, not to mention, more than likely they only own one of the mainstream video game systems.

When I first saw the Infiniti Essence Concept in Geneva, I could not help but to think that this was Infiniti’s (Nissan’s) answer to Toyota’s Lexus LF-A . Supposedly the Infiniti Essence has a similar engine to that of the Nissan GT-R but also has an electric motor along side of it making this a Hybrid sports car. Some automotive experts believe the Infiniti Essence is closer to production than originally thought since the Concept vehicle, demonstrated in the video below, operates on its own power and has several completely functional components. Some car enthusiasts have already compared the styling to a Maserati GT or Fisker Karma and think that this car will never be a production vehicle. Only time will tell and it is ticking away. Case-in-point, today there will be a live unveiling at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance of the new Infiniti M but already the Infiniti Essence has made an appearance at the show being unpacked from a flat-bed truck

Not many cars give you a warm and gushy feeling before you even drive it, but somehow the new Infiniti G37 Coupe does the job just fine and reaffirms it with a slight push of the gas pedal. The new 2009 Infiniti G37 Coupe offers a lofty 330-horsepower V6 engine. This is one of Nissans infamous VQ power-house motors that has been perfected many times over. In addition to the refined powerplant, a 7-speed automatic transmission is standard for all G37’s while a 6-speed manual is available on the Sport 6MT version. Our test Infiniti G37 Coupe Journey was loaded up with several options including the premium package, sport package, navigation package and even illuminated kick plates. Of course with the addition of these wonderful “packages” comes a hefty price for a Japanese luxury sports coupe but manages to stay well below the German competition.

The all-new 2009 Nissan Cube is not really all-new, but is the third-generation. Nissan introduced the original Cube, an aptly named box-on-wheels, to minor consumer interest. Maybe the Cube was ahead of its time, even for the hip, young Japanese. Time is change and Nissan didn’t give up and they spent time and money getting the all-new 2 nd generation ready for its 2002 debut to the Japanese market. More spacious inside, more glass outside, more power under the hood, and a few more angles and curved surface details added to its compact, slab-sided exterior. Japanese styling personified, the new Cube took Tokyo by storm. The Cube was a hit as a pocket-sized fun and function machine. Like the Nissan GT-R before it, the Nissan Cube soon found an audience outside of Japan-not in person but through its exposure in fashion, videos, the web, and automotive magazines.
