Filed under: Spy Photos , Sedan , Europe , Mercedes-Benz , Luxury One would think that if Mercedes-Benz was really invested in keeping the upcoming 2011 CLS under wraps, it wouldn't be conducting an official photo shoot right outside of the company's museum in Stuttgart. Evidently, though, that's not the case. One keen-eyed visitor to the halls of Silver Arrow lore happened to spot a camera crew snapping photos of what looks to be an undisguised CLS, and was kind enough to share the find with Not

Filed under: Crossover , Mercedes-Benz , Reviews , Luxury 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 - Click above for high-res image gallery When you launch a vehicle during the year's most over-hyped estrogenfest, you're obviously trying to appeal to a specific demographic. Specifically, not us. There's a reason we haven't taken a crack at the Mercedes-Benz GLK until the sequel to Sex and the City hit the screen. It was just too easy to pigeonhole this cute 'ute as nothing more than a boxy four-wheeled trinket - a cynical fashion accessory designed to compliment your rat-faced pooch and Manolo Blahniks (yes, we had to look that up). But a funny thing happened on the way down I-5. While blasting the stereo and hauling along at a decidedly Germanic clip, all of the stereotypes about the GLK's target demographic flew out its expansive sunroof. For as much as we dislike the mere idea of "entry-level luxury" - and in particular the scads of pseudo-SUVs that populate it - the GLK started to make sense. It's well proportioned, has adequate power and comes with nearly enough amenities to match its tri-pointed badge.

Filed under: Hybrid , Sedan , Mercedes-Benz , Reviews , Luxury 2010 Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid - Click above for high-res image gallery When pondering the idea of any near-$100,000 hybrid luxury sedan, one has to wonder, "What's the point?" The only hybrids that sell in any significant numbers are the Toyota Prius and Ford Fusion , and for good reason. Both allow drivers - and particularly hyper-milers - to squeeze every last mile out of each gallon of fuel. Obviously, anyone with the financial wherewithal to purchase a 2010 Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid is unlikely to be motivated by the technology's fuel savings. Similarly, if someone wants to make a social statement by driving a "green" vehicle, they will likely want their ride to be instantly recognizable as a hybrid. So the cost-no-object camp is divided. They can either drop their coin on an all-electric Tesla Roadster or, in spite of their bank balance, go with a lowly Toyota . Which begs the question: Is there something in between

The all-new 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-550 sporty luxury sedan breaks new safety and design barriers to become one of the market’s best engineered and smartest sedans, a definite ‘trend setter’. This all-new E-Class model is the ninth-generation of this highly successful model line with a total of more than 10-million produced over the past 60-years. The design of the new E-Class sedan begins with a ‘cubist’ treatment of the trademark M-B twin-headlight face. Two parallelogram white LED lights are recessed into the front fenders, bracketing the three-dimensional frame of the front grille. The overall body shape features a sophisticated interplay between line and surfaces. Taut, clearly defined lines help define large concave and convex surfaces. In particular, a graceful line follows each rear wheel-well and shapes the muscular contours of the rear fenders. The new car looks futuristic in many respects and is the world’s most aerodynamic sedan with a co-efficient of drag of just 0.25 giving back better fuel economy and less wind noise. The car is available with four engine choices, the standard is the E350 liter with a 3.5 liter V6 making 268hp, the E550 comes with a 5.5 liter V8 making 382hp, the E350 BlueTEC comes with an innovative V6 turbodiesel that makes 210hp. The high-performance E63 AMG is fitted with a 518hp 6.3 liter V8. Any new E-Class is fun and easy to drive whether in sport or luxury trim. All luxury models come with a comfort suspension while the sport models are fitted with a sport-tuned suspension that has stiffer shocks and springs as well as a slightly lower ride height

Love it or hate it, this is really it, the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata. We have witnessed several renditions of what the new Hyundai Sonata would look like and some of them were not off by far. The new stylish design resembles that of a VW Passat CC or even the Benz CLS with roof lines that mimic a coupe. Visually the car looks totally different from one end to the other. Hyundai is no longer the “el-cheapo” car from Korea (same goes for the sister nameplate Kia), it is the one that gives Toyota’s Camry and Honda’s Accord a run for their money in more ways than just the 10-year powertrain warranty. The 2011 Hyundai Sonata does not just go up against the normal run-of-the-mill Camry or Accord

Filed under: Motorsports , Mercedes-Benz , Ferrari , Rumormill Say it ain't so, Schu! The Daily Telegraph is reporting that seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher is close to signing on with the newly formed Mercedes Formula 1 team. Mercedes is the new name of the former Brawn GP team, the current Constructors Champion. After a stellar rookie season that saw this former Honda team clinch not just the Constructors Championship, but also the Drivers Championship for Jenson Button, they had a bit of a dropoff as Button bolted for rival McLaren. That left a seat to fill at Mercedes and if BBC Sport 's Eddie Jordan is to be believed, none other than Michael Schumacher is about to sign a one-year contract to return to racing in that very car.

The S-Class was to remain the flag-ship sedan that we could all recognize just like other luxury autos such as the BMW 7-series. Now Mercedes Benz has sent me for a loop after catching these spy shots of a new S-Class coupe. That’s almost a contradiction in terms don’t you think?

My advice to those who happen to own an exotic car and have at least one son: Do not let him drive your car! A 23 year old son of the owner of this 2008 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR, valued at $700,000, was supposedly racing a Ferrari 599 GTB and ended up in a terrible accident. The question arises, is a Mercedes McLaren SLR a bit too much for a 23-year-old to drive? Well… it obviously was in the case of this accident that took place in Warsaw, Poland. More images below!
Just before the Frankfurt Motor Show , several new car images are being leaked and today it is Mercedes-Benz’s turn. Images of the new 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG were leaked onto the internet today . We posted several spy images in the past of the upcoming Benz SLS AMG and I have to say that the images leaked today reveal a much better “look” than the one speculated over previous spy shots. The “Gullwing” inspired design makes this a classy looking Benz. The new SLS AMG will use the 6.3-liter V8 with 563 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque matted to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission as found in other AMG Benz vehicles.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing is the first car developed in-house by Mercedes’ performance division AMG. It is meant to be one of those beyond-super supercars that we’ve simply run out of adjectives for. So you can have a look at the details here and decide for yourself on the best word to describe it. The SLS AMG Gullwing comes with an aluminum chassis and body, likely a magnificent feat of metallurgy by AMG that will only fail to impress if coyly placed next to an Aston Martin One-77, whose monocoque core is made of highly rigid carbon composite materials. But the precision engineering that goes into this car is nothing to mock.

The award-winning seven-passenger GL-Class-the first full-size SUV from Mercedes-Benz-gets a timely new model for 2009. Joining the fully equipped, 382hp GL550 model and the highly successful GL450, the fuel-sipping GL320 BlueTEC diesel features a new AdBlue exhaust treatment system that helps it meet the most stringent 50-state emissions limits. The GL320 BlueTec is changing consumers’ dated perceptions about today’s diesel engines-it gets surprisingly good performance, very quiet running, and extremely low exhaust emissions, in the process of delivering 20-30% better fuel economy. With an EPA highway fuel mileage rating of 23mpg/highway, 17mpg/city, the seven-seat SUV boasts an impressive cruising range of up to 600 miles at highway speeds. With V8 like pulling power the GL320 BlueTec can tow up to 7,500lbs. with the optional Class IV trailer hitch. BlueTec is a modular system that includes an oxidation catalyst and a maintenance-free particulates filter as well as new techniques for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions-the last type of exhaust gas that’s higher in diesel vehicles than gasoline engines. The BlueTec diesels use an NOx storage converter in combination with an SCR catalytic converter and AdBlue injection to lower NOx emissions. The AdBlue system (technical name: urea SCR system) injects an aqueous carbamide solution into the exhaust flow, which releases ammonia reducing nitrogen oxides to harmless nitrogen and water in the downstream SCR converter. Just the right amount of AdBlue for a given engine load and speed is injected to get the greatest reduction in nitrogen oxides. On average, only a quart of AdBlue is needed for every 600 miles driven, so its tank only needs to be serviced every 10,000 miles as a part of regularly scheduled maintenance. BlueTEC owners who are used to taking in their car for scheduled maintenance will hardly know the AdBlue tank is there. The diesel-powered GL320 BlueTEC all-aluminum, 3.0 liter DOHC 24-valve turbocharged V6 engine delivers impressive performance, low exhaust emissions and great fuel economy. With 210hp and a healthy 398lb.ft

The infamous G-Wagon is not “G” until you trick it out with some wheels, accents and maybe some “go-fast” parts. Hamann , a well-known German tuner company, has done just that. The Mercedes Benz G55 AMG is nothing hot off of the press but it continues to be that “fly” vehicle rolling down the street that tends to turn several heads. Hamann has taken several cars, including many German makes, and turned them into likable monsters. The Hamann Typhoon G-ride or Gelandewagen, is pimped out with 600hp by means of a HM600 power kit that includes new engine electronics, new pulley sets and transmission cooler.

Okay, I like Matt Farah, actually I like the job that he has at Garage419 . The guys at BBI Autosport do some amazing work. They started off customizing Porsches but since some time they customize other “performance” vehicles. One of the latest creations that Matt Farah at Garage 419 gets to check out is a sick 997 Porsche GT3 RSR customized with a second seat (you can literally scare your friend) along with driving a 500hp PPI Audi R8 Razor and just for the hell of it, he gets to go crazy in a Benz CLK Black Series. Matt - “Can I drive the CLK Black Series?” Ahh, sure Matt! Have fun! Just be sure to use the passenger door to get out. Watch the video below to fully understand! Enjoy!
